Dear Halina,

I thought I would write and thank you for all the help I have been given by WLPA. I have been aware of the plight of these cats for a long time and realised what a dreadful life they had. The main problem is that each season they breed and bring lots more kittens to the area.

I have tried to get help for these cats for the last 2 years without any success at all until I accidentally came across WLPA. I have a large file full of the various organisations I have contacted and given the same brush off each time. The only place that was prepared to help was your organisation.

I really could not believe how lucky I was when you rang and said you would come to Sydney and have a look at the situation. I really could not begin to tell you what a relief it was after trying for over 2 years to get any organisation to listen to my problem. It was much more encouraging when you mentioned that you desex the cats and put them back as you don’t believe in euthanasia. I then was given a WLPA volunteer’s phone number to discuss the trapping and desexing of the cats. The volunteer, Chris, a most compassionate man carried out the time consuming rescue work which was done with great skill and care. Over several weeks, the cats were taken to a vet and checked over and desexed. I went one Sunday afternoon to see how the trapping was done and was very impressed with what I saw. The cats’ interests and well being are utmost in the minds of the trappers.

Halina, I cannot thank you enough for all the help you, WLPA and your volunteers have given me and I thank you on behalf of all the animals you have given care and attention to.

Keep up the good work.

Sylvia
