Tortie and Tinky
Dear all
One late night few months ago a friend turned up at my door step
and said: "please help, I rescued two female cats, and have no
place to put them for the night... they are in early stages of
pregnancy, so they need to be desexed now ... "
I looked at these frightened beautiful girls, their skinny
bodies, matted fur... In panic I thought "every free corner of
my place is already taken, where would I put them safely for the
night?"
Well, I took them. I negotiated with Babe (yes, dog Babe is
still with me!) so he vacated his spot for much less comfortable
place and I promised him that it would be only for very short
time. After Tortie & Tinky were desexed I sent urgent appeal for
a foster parent. Nobody answered...
So, in spite of vocal protests from my two- and four- legged
family (especially from Babe very cross with me for not keeping
the promise and who now has to be on the a lead most of the
time, because he must now share space with other felines) I
became the foster mum of Tortie & Tinky.
The little girls were so stressed, their whole world was turned
up-side-up. As their immune system was very compromised, they
were getting sick left, right and centre.
Well, look at the photos. They are now a picture of vibrant
health. Their eyes are bright, their fur is shiny, they put up
some weight. In spite of being terrified in the early stages,
they never hissed or attacked. They have such nice, inquisitive
personalities. Most of the time they play with each other,
explore parts of the house, or simply cuddle and snooze.
What can I say...I felt in love with them.
Unfortunately due to my family circumstances I can't adopt them
permanently and with a very heavy heart I have to let them go.
I am now urgently seeking the a permanent home for Torti & Tinky.
It must be somebody who will recognise that these poor beautiful
souls had a dreadful past and that they require love, patience
and safe environment.

I think Tortie & Tinky are about one & half years old, they are
very playful - they love playing with ping-pong balls and long
strings! They are very good with all other my cats, in spite of
being chased and scuffed by some of them. Tortie & Tinky are not
even worried by my constantly barking dogs :)
They are still very wary of visiting humans, but do not mind the
other resident human.
They are desexed, microchipped, wormed, de-fleaed. The World
League for Protection of Animals helped with veterinary
expenses, so adoption will include donation to cover some of the
cost.
Torti & Tinky must be adopted
together, as they find immense comfort in each other's company.
They groom and console each other, sleep together, eat together,
play together...

Cuddling
Holding Hands
Here's what Tinky & Torti wanted to say:
Our parents were dumped by cruel people who went for a Christmas
holiday. We were born on the streets amongst rubbish, bottles
and traffic. Big cats were chasing us and in spite of our young
age got us pregnant. We were very hungry and didn't have enough
food for ourselves or the growing kittens in our bellies.
One day we found food in strange looking box. We went in ...
This was a trap!
We were SO scared. We were taken to a hospital where man in blue
coat unceremonially grabbed us and inflicted a lot of pain.
Tortie:
I
watched Tinky being stabbed with needle, my heart was beating
fast .. will he stab me too? ... yes he did. I woke-up, was very
sore.Tinky was in the cage next to me. She looked very
miserable.
We were taken away by car and then found ourselves in small,
sunny, warm room.
From that moment on our lives changed for the better.
Tortie dreaming of her forever
home with Tinky
A lady with soft voice gave us so much food. We gobbled, and
gobbled. She touched us gently. We were afraid of human hands,
which hurt us in the past, so we skidded away. But soon her
tender hands & calm voice became part of our feeding sessions.
We have been given lots of good fresh food, lots of vitamins &
minerals and now look very much forward to her gentle strokes as
with them comes delicious food! Life is good ...
Tinky:
Yesterday
when our foster mum was giving us lots of nibbles I even sat on
her lap waiting for more. My belly was full, I felt warm,
relaxed so I went to sleep. She did not move. I must have been
dreaming for an hour or so, when suddenly small salty drops woke
me up. I opened my one eye and saw tears pouring down her face.
She was stroking Tortie softly and was whispering to her that
very soon she has to go to the far, far land where she can not
take us. She said how much she loves us, but we must go!!
I got scared. I quickly closed my eyes, maybe if I keep them
both closed I still can dream that we will be safe, secure and
loved?
Please give us a loving & secure home, we do not want to go back
to the streets, please ....
